ILS has become a partner of CSIR on open source drug discovery (OSDD) program to work on TB under the leadership of Dr K AnilKumar. CSIR will furnish infrastructure and fund research activities under this program at ILS. This partnership will also enable ILS to be part of the network program of CSIR sponsored research on other diseases like diabetes. Through these programs ILS will train skilled human resource and do High quality research. Research on identification of novel druggable targets for endemic & neglected diseases will also be taken up. ILS will strive to help provide “Safe & Affordable” medicines. 

 

DBT has set up a centre of excellence in TB research at ILS under the leadership of Dr S E Hasnain. This program is funded for Rs 10 crores and will be carried out in collaboration with University of Hyderabad, CDFD, Mahaveer hospital and Lepra Blue.
